Spiced Baklava

1: Preheat the oven to 175°C.

2: Finely chop the pistachio nuts and melt the Flora plant.

3: In a lined oven proof dish, layer the filo pastry and brush with melted Flora plant. Repeat this 5 times.

4: Add a sprinkling of chopped nuts.

5: Repeat layering 5 more times with the filo pastry and melted Flora plant, then finish with one layer of nuts.

6: Cut the top layer into diamonds.

7: Bake in the oven for 50 minutes until golden brown.

8: While the baklava is baking, make the sugar syrup by melting all of the syrup ingredients in a pot, bringing to a boil, and simmering for 20 minutes.

9: Leave the syrup to cool for ten minutes.

10: Once the baklava is out of the oven, drench it in the sugar syrup.

11: Sprinkle some remaining pistachio dust on top.

12: Leave to set overnight or for at least 4 hours.
